On April 7th, Professor Tao Sun from Loughborough University visited our university to deliver an informative session on the joint bachelor's and master's program to over 60 undergraduate students from the School of Food and Biological Engineering, the School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, and other departments.
During the session, Professor Sun began with a vivid presentation filled with images and detailed descriptions, introducing Loughborough University’s long-standing history, outstanding academic reputation, and globally recognized research excellence. He particularly emphasized the university’s strengths in science and engineering disciplines, such as food science and chemical engineering. He then provided an in-depth explanation of the "3+1+1" joint education model: the first three years of undergraduate study are completed at our university, followed by a fourth year at Loughborough University for coursework and research training. In the fifth year, students can directly pursue a master's degree. Professor Sun also thoroughly addressed key areas of student concern, including application requirements, language proficiency standards, and scholarship opportunities, offering students a clear understanding of the program structure and future prospects. During the Q&A session, students actively asked questions regarding course alignment, adapting to life abroad, and career opportunities. Drawing on his extensive experience in international education, Professor Sun answered each question patiently and provided personalized advice tailored to students from different academic backgrounds.
On the morning of April 8th, Professor Sun held in-depth discussions with faculty members from our university. The two sides reached several agreements to further deepen cooperation and exchange. This information session not only offered valuable guidance for students pursuing international education but also built a bridge for communication with a prestigious global institution. Moving forward, our university will continue to strengthen partnerships with world-class universities such as Loughborough University and promote a variety of international exchange programs to broaden students’ global perspectives and enhance their core competencies.
